Sunshine

Up early today, grocery day for us.  At the store by 7:05 a.m. and home, groceries put away and now we are ready to start the day.

The morning clouds are beginning to fade away, and the sun is now shining to what promises to be another lovely day.  The lawns that were clear of leaves when it got dark last night are now all covered with leaves again......a never ending story, however, we are beginning to see the end in sight as only a few leaves are still on the trees.

I belong to a quilting guild and it has been meeting for 20 years, I have only been a member for about 12 or 13 years.   We were planning on have a big celebration last month but that did not happen.  Back in the early Spring we decided to have an anniversary challenge., a round and round quilt.  The first block was to be of our own choice and every month there after we were given an element that had to go into the next round.  The big reveal was last month.   Below is a photo of mine.  I wanted a throw for our sofa, so used the colours in it to make my quilt.  The final result was bigger than I had hoped but still happy with how it turned out.  All I have to do now is send it off to get it quilted, which I hope will be done late this month.

Somewhere in the quilt we had to insert something that had "20" in it.  The leaves on the branches total 20 and also the points on the corner paper piecing.

Dinner tonight, chicken veg and salad.

  1. *gasp* Ohhhhhh, how beautiful!!!! Your quilt is absolutely gorgeous!!! I admire folks who can quilt. I gave it a whirl and just didn't like it. In our tole painting group, we used to paint quilt squares and one of our members would sew them together... then we too would send the quilt top off to be finished. Then we'd raffle the quilt off as our yearly fundraiser. The locals used to wait each year, to see what the theme was for that year's quilt. Fun times. ~Andrea xoxo
