Road Trip

October is going to be a busy month for us, with the exception of this, the first week, so we decided if we are going to do anything we had better do it now, as Hubby's neck was feeling a lot better.

On Sunday, we left on a road trip for four days, visiting some friends of Hubby's, they live north of us, so it took us most of the day to get to where they have a summer cottage.   At this time of the year most everywhere in Canada the leaves are turning colour and where they live it is usually beautiful, and we picked a perfect time to go as in our opinion they were at their peak.  Blogger will not let me upload photo's, so will try again later.

We checked into our hotel, what greeted us at the front door was a sign telling us to be aware of bears as they were around the hotel looking for food.   Apparently, because we have had little rain this Summer there are few berries for them to eat so they are coming into the local towns looking for food.  We did not see any.

Monday morning we travelled all day again looking at the lovely scenery, no busy four/five lane high ways for us.   We arrived in the city where my youngest grand daughter is studying aviation, surprising her and took her out for dinner.  It was so nice to see her.

Tuesday morning travelling all day,  we went to Ottawa where my second youngest granddaughter is studying for her Ph.D.  Surprising her and taking her out for dinner, again so nice to see her too.

Oh! the traffic, get me out of here quick, so on Wednesday morning we started out to what would be a full day of travelling to come home.   We could have taken the large freeways, but decided again to take the more leisurely way home by using less used roads.  It would take us longer but we knew our bed was at the end of the day.

We accomplished everything we wanted to do, surprise everyone with an unexpected visit.

We had a lovely time, even though there was a lot of travelling but, that is what is necessary in this big wide country of Canada.  It was so  nice to get away, even for a short time, no housework, and having someone else get my meals and clean up afterwards.

Now, to get ready for Thanksgiving, then a busy month.
